Poo-ha

So, two weeks ago, I cleaned up my yard after 6 months of growth. 31,500 footsteps worth of clean up.

I mainly cleaned up these shoulder high weeds.

Today, on my Whitey the greyhound walk, I saw a couple of Kiwis harvesting them in the park.

Damn!

I didn't know that I didn't know that you could eat them.

I could have guessed, I guess.

They're the white sappy type of plant, so they recommended boiling them up with pork bones.

They're alright with bacon bones too, they said.

They select the young ones, before flowering. Sweeter. Less bitter. They only eat the leaves, but they pick the whole plant, chopping it off at the ground with a knife.

A little bit too old.
The flower buds were cut off.
Tip
Know that you don't know that you don't know stuff and be open to enquiry.

Still too old,
but that's what

the flowers look like.

Definitely too old to eat
for the best taste.
